A female suspect, who was sitting next to the mother, offered to hold the baby then disappeared with him.
Gauteng police spokesperson Marvela Masondo says the baby was unharmed.
“The baby was picked up by a couple after he was dumped next to Pretoria University Mamelodi Campus.”
“The couple then took the baby to the police station where he was positively identified by the parents.”
The suspect remains at large.
"The case of kidnapping remains open and police are still searching for the suspects", says Masondo.
