Klipspruit West matric learners moved out
Updated | By Slindelo Masikane
Gauteng's Department of Education has confirmed that it is moving all grade 12 learners from Klipspruit West Secondary School until they write their final exams in October.

According to the department the school is experiencing governance issues which include ill-discipline by learners.
The learners will be moved to a walk-in centre in the area. They will later be moved to a camp.
"We will investigate allegations of drug peddling at school which we consider very serious and disturbing. We can confirm that learners constantly break the palisade fence and they also damaged the recently installed concrete fence. It is sad that community members never make any effort to intervene and assist the school management when learners are misbehaving," says the department's Steve Mabona.
The Soweto-based high school made headlines earlier this year after a violent racial protest erupted over the hiring of a black principal in July.
It has been reported that the largely coloured community wanted a coloured candidate to take over as a principal.
The department is appealing to members of the community and parents to assist to safeguard the school.
