Krejcir's wife's arrest 'malicious': Lawyers
Updated | By Lonwabo Miso
The arrest of Czech fugitive Radovan Krejcir's wife was malicious, Krejcir's lawyers said on Friday.
"We regard it as malicious," said Piet du Plessis.
Katerina Krejcirova was arrested at the Palm Ridge Magistrate's Court in Johannesburg as she attended her husband's bail application.
Du Plessis told reporters at the court that she was arrested in connection with an allegedly stolen vehicle found on the Krejcir's property in the Vaal.
After consulting with police and her husband's lawyers, four armed police officers led Krejcirova out of the court. They placed her in a police vehicle and drove off with her. It was unclear which police station she was taken to.
Meanwhile, the magistrate was expected to continue with Krejcir's bail application later on Friday. The matter was heard and temporarily stood down for the magistrate to attend to other cases on the roll.
This was Krejcir's third bail attempt after being arrested in connection with an attempted murder and kidnapping case in November.
