A high volume of visitors is expected at the park on Heritage Day until Sunday.

The park's spokesperson Isaac Phaahla says daily gate quotas will be strictly enforced during this period.

"Day visitors who did not pre-book their entrance via central reservations, should arrive at the gate very early in the morning, as the service is on a first-come-first-served basis.

"Once the daily quota has been reached, only people with bookings are allowed in.

"There is a possibility to allow more people if there are people who are moving out of the park; however, individuals cannot rely on that process as they might queue for long hours or end up not getting entry to the park at all.”

He adds: "Day visitors with advanced bookings are also expected to arrive at the booked gate by no later than 13:00 on the date of the booking, because after 13:00 the booking lapses.”

Phaahla is also reminding visitors to obey the rules and regulations of the park.

"We want to emphasise the rules and regulations on littering, speeding, getting out of cars and loud noises,” Phaahla says.

"Furthermore visitors are also cautioned of the Covid-19 rules and regulations even though we are operating under level 1 guidelines."
