Updated | By Nokukhanya N Mntambo
Parts of a Kruger National Park (KNP) restaurant were gutted by a fire on Monday morning.

The fire, the second at the park within the space of a week, broke out at the kitchen at Berg en Dal Rest Camp.
It’s not yet clear what caused the fire.
KNP spokesperson Ike Phaahla says a contractor team on site managed to douse the flames.
“The contractor team who are refurbishing the units at the camp together with staff members reacted quickly and managed to contain the fire before it could spread throughout the whole building; but part of the facility , the kitchen and dining hall have been damaged.
“The cause of the fire is still being investigated at this stage and an update will be provided in due course.”
Phaahla says no injuries were reported.
