KZN cop killers get life sentence

Sanele Chonco and Xolani Khumalo, both 26, were each handed life sentences plus 30 years for the murders, robbery and possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition, Colonel Jay Naicker said.
They killed Constable Mesula Mavimbela and robbed him of his Toyota Verso and service pistol on December 14, 2012. Mavimbela was found dead in a donga in the Ekuvukeni area.
A second man, Lindokuhle Shange, was shot that month in the same area. He died in hospital.
