KZN man dies in stampede after crowd storms liquor store

A 45-year-old man died in a stampede in KwaZulu when a large group of people stormed a local liquor store on Monday.
Members of the community stormed the store after they got wind of alcohol dumped outside the store in Mariannhill.
It’s understood the alcohol had expired and placed outside while waiting for disposal.
KZN police spokesperson Thembeka Mbele says public order police together with local police dispersed the rowdy crowd.
“During the stampede, a 45-year-old man died at the scene.”
