KZN pastor accused of raping minors back in the dock
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
A northern KwaZulu-Natal pastor accused of the rape and sexual assault of several children is due back in court in Nquthu on Friday morning.
The 56-year-old faces five counts of rape and three counts of sexual assault.
The mother of one of the children raised the alarm in Luvisi Village in Ward 13.
The Department of Social Development says the pastor allegedly lured the little boy and other children to his home by telling them he'd let them watch cartoons.
Officials believe the abuse began sometime last year.
The boys and girls are aged between nine and 14 years.
At his last court appearance, the pastor abandoned his bid for bail.
Meanwhile, a group of social workers and local religious leaders are set to hold a picket outside court.
