KZN police probe drowning of four children

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the deaths of four children on the KZN north coast.
The boys were swimming in a dam in the KwaMbonambi area near Richards Bay - when they drowned yesterday.
10-year-old siblings, Ayathoba and Ayabonga Mthembu lost their lives along with 13-year-old Asanda Dive and five-year-old, Qiniso Mchunu.

Police say the children got into difficulty in the waters of Msweli Dam.
The NSRI's Craig Lambinon says they were called to assist police divers late in the afternoon.
"During that search, they recovered the bodies of four children - aged between five and thirteen. They are all local children. Their bodies were recovered and taken into the care of the forensic pathology services. Police have opened an inquest docket," he says.
