KZN will 'emerge stronger’ from conference, says ANC

African National Congress (ANC) in KwaZulu-Natal has pronounced itself ready for this weekend’s provincial conference.

The conference is expected to take place in Durban from Thursday.
The ANC's task team coordinator in the province, Sihle Zikalala, says it is all system go for the conference.
"We are ready because we have gone through all preparations and we believe that our conference will be a platform to consolidate unity for the organisation," says Zikalala.
He hopes the party will emerge stronger and ready to tackle issues that have been crippling the much-contested ANC stronghold province.
Earlier in the year, the ANC’s National Executive Committee appointed a provincial task team to run the party’s affairs in KwaZulu-Natal.
The party's national party chairperson, Gwede Mantashe, was booed off stage as he took podium and chaos erupted at the party’s failed provincial conference.
Mantashe‚ was expected to deliver the keynote address‚ however was disrupted by pro-Zuma supporters.
Zikalala says this time around there will be no chaos.
"We have addressed all concerns, and we are moving ahead."
