A 36-year-old woman has handed herself over to police in KwaZulu Natal police following an altercation that led to her mother’s death on Friday night at Ntshongweni in Hammersdale.

The daughter is accused of killing her 62-year-old mother by striking her with a hammer on the head.
She reportedly woke up to her unresponsive mother and went to hand herself over to the police on Saturday morning.
Provincial police spokesperson Robert Netshiunda says police are investigating a case of murder.
“Reports indicate that the mother and daughter had an altercation which resulted in the daughter fatally assaulting her mother with a hammer on the head. The suspect handed herself over to the police in Hammersdale, and after her arrest, she was taken to the Mpumalanga police to face her murder case.”
The woman is set to appear in court soon.
