Labour court orders reinstatement of axed Prasa executives
Updated | By Karabo Tebele
The Labour Court in Johannesburg has ordered the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (Prasa) to reinstate three axed executives with immediate effect.

In a judgment handed down on Tuesday, the court declared that the termination of their employment was unlawful.
The former executive for risk and legal compliance Onica Ngoye, former chief operating officer Nkosinathi Khena, and former Autopax CEO Tiro Helele were fired in January this year.
They were accused of exceeding their five-year limit as executives of the rail agency.

In a media statement on Tuesday, Prasa said it will appeal the judgment.
"Prasa will be appealing the judgment of the Acting Judge as the basis of the judgment in favour of the applicants is flawed in law,” they said.
"Prasa's legal team will be filing the necessary papers before the end of business tomorrow, Wednesday 03 March 2021."
