Laudium teachers say they have not been paid
Updated | By JacarandaFM News
Teachers employed by the School Governing Body of the Rosina Sedibane Modiba Sport School in Laudium say they have not been paid their December salaries yet.
A basketball coach at the school says, it is still unclear whether salaries will be paid at all.
"We haven't been paid and they are telling us at the eleventh hour that we are not getting paid until further notice," he says.
The coach says they have been told the school does not have funds.
"It has happened twice this year. We do not understand why the school does not have funds. School fees are being paid and events and sports bring money in," he says.
The school has not been able to comment, but it is understood that members of the SGB are expected to meet with the affected teachers today.
"We are all waiting for the SGB members to come and explain, because they are hearing our voice," says the coach.
