Learner shot and wounded while sitting in class
The department of Gauteng says a learner from Dowerglen High
School in Edenvale is recovering in hospital.
This comes after four suspects entered the schoolyard and started shooting randomly on Wednesday afternoon.
Gauteng Education spokesperson, Steve Mabona, has urged members of the community not to use school premises as a hideout from law enforcement.
"We are pleased that at this stage there are no fatalities," says Mabona.
Mabona adds leaners who witnessed the incident have already received counselling and that process continues today.
Three suspects were arrested, and one fled the scene.
