Western Cape traffic authorities say at least 11 people were killed and 13 injured in an accident between a minibus and a bus on the N1 between Leeu Gamka and Beaufort West.
The accident happened at around 5 am on Friday.
According to a Department statement preliminary indications are that the minibus had a flat tyre and that the bus then drove in.
“My sincere condolences to the families who lost loved ones in the crash this morning and I wish a speedy recovery to the injured,” said Daylin Mitchell, Provincial Minister of Transport and Public Works.
