Gauteng Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi has called an urgent meeting with parents at Parktown Boys’ High School on Friday.
Lesufi is set to give an update on recent developments in the death of 13-year-old Enoch Mpianzi.
The department's spokesperson Steve Mabona says it's important to keep the parents in the loop.
"Mr Panyaza Lesufi will tomorrow the 24th of January 2020 facilitate a meeting with the parents of Parktown Boys’ High, just to update them on the recent developments of what has been happening at the school.
"All parents, that is from all grades, will be expected to attend this meeting just to have an understanding on the latest developments."

Mpianzi died last week during the school's orientation camp in North West.
The Nyati Bush and Riverbreak Resort where the Parktown Boys' High pupil drowned has also invited the parents of Mpianzi to visit the campsite on the same day.
This despite previous attempts by the family to visit the resort for a site inspection, accompanied by the South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC).
