Lesufi probing sexual assault allegations at Vaal High
Updated | By Gaopalelwe Phalaetsile
Gauteng Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi is investigating allegations that pupils at Vaal High School in Vanderbijlpark are being sexually assaulted by their teachers.
"I am struggling to get information, so I have assembled a team to go and gather it from the learners and the school. I will then act because currently there is no tangible information that can help us," he said on a visit to the school on Thursday.
"The allegations are serious, if I have to fire a principal or a teacher, I need information that can be substantiated.”
The school principal has also been implicated.

He acknowledged that there are problems at the school but refused to elaborate.
This comes amid allegations that a teacher, who is currently at home, is inciting the pupils.
But Lesufi made it clear that he cannot substantiate those claims.
