Lesufi: Several teachers implicated in Mpianzi death

Gauteng Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi says the family of Enock Mpianzi will receive the full forensic report into the death of the 13-year-old on Thursday morning.

The MEC was speaking at a media briefing hosted by the National Press Club in Pretoria on Wednesday.

Lesufi established the investigation following the death of Mpianzi while on a Parktown Boys' High School orientation camp in Brits, North West, last month.

The teen’s body was retrieved from the Crocodile River three days after his disappearance.

Lesufi believes the report will allow the family to gain some closure.

"It’s part of the legal process that they need to embark ton. We are also giving it to the government through the premier, and then hand it over to the teachers unions because there are a number of teachers implicated there," says Lesufi.

Lesufi has called a meeting with parents at the school later on Thursday, after which the report will be made public.
