Lesufi vows action against racism, nepotism at Laerskool Theresapark

Gauteng Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi has vowed to act against allegations of racism, nepotism and maladministration at Laerskool Theresapark in Tshwane.
The school has been embroiled in allegations of racism, nepotism and mismanagement of funds, with some SGB members accused of financially benefitting through companies owned by their relatives.
This led to an investigation by the provincial department.
Lesufi presented the investigation outcome to the parents on Tuesday evening.
He assured parents that action will be taken.
“There is an understanding that there were lots of wrong things that were happening to that school. One, the issue of governance and limitations and gaps to the issue of management.
“There are things that are completely unacceptable and three is the leadership of the school through the principal, there are matters that need our immediate attention and four is matters of racism which is something that I don’t take lightly, so those are four things that we have to attend to, and I want to assure you, we will attend to them,” said Lesufi.
“I want to assure that we can’t request people to investigate or assist us to find wrong things and leave the report unattended. As soon as we conclude the latter paper where people that are implicated are given an opportunity to respond, we will take action.”
