Let's release Enoch Mpianzi back to creator: Lesufi
Updated | By Neo Motloung
Gauteng Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi says over the past few days he has become accustomed to issuing death certificates instead of report cards.
Lesufi was speaking at the memorial service of 13-year-old Parktown Boys’ High School pupil Enoch Mpianzi on Tuesday.
Mpianzi drowned during a grade 8 orientation camp in Brits, North West.
The MEC told mourners that over the past two weeks his department has been moving from one family to another to convey messages of condolence.
"Instead of giving those families congratulation messages.
"I was the one that had that difficult task of explaining to the family that the body of Enoch has been found.”
Lesufi also encouraged Mpianzi’s family to release him, even though it is difficult.
"I know this is difficult, but nevertheless I will say it. Let's release Enoch, let's release him back to our creator. Let's release him to prepare for us, let's release him to serve us.”
Mpianzi is expected to be buried this coming Saturday.
