Limpopo community up in arms after patient dies at clinic
Updated | By Lesetja Makhura
The Limpopo Department of Health is calling for calm in the Praktiseer area following the death of a patient.

The department’s spokesperson, Neil Shikwambana, says a chronic hypertensive and peptic ulcer patient came to Praktiseer clinic on Sunday, complaining of a burning sensation in the stomach after she had spicey food.
Shikwambana says she was given medication, but an hour later, she was reported to have collapsed and passed away.
The death has led to threats of violence against nurses by members of the community.
"We fully understand as the department that this kind of unfortunate incident can cause serious stress and anxiety among community members,” said Shikwambana.
"We, therefore, want to call upon the community members in Praktiseer not to do anything based on what they are feeling currently but to await the process of investigating to conclude so that the real cause of death can be established because up to so far, the cause of death is not yet known.”
