Limpopo government says political killings won't affect service delivery
Updated | By Lindiwe Mpanza
The Limpopo government has condemned the killing of two African National Congress (ANC) leaders in the Mokgalakwena Municipality on Tuesday.
The local government has further ensured the public that the murders will not interfere with service delivery in the municipality.
It is believed that the two ANC politicians were assassinated in a brazen daylight shooting while they were sitting in a vehicle in the town of Mokopane.
Spokesperson for the office of the Limpopo Premier, Kenny Mathivha, says the people of Mokgalakwena should remain calm.
"Government is ensuring that service delivery is not interfered with and it continues as normal, no political interference will prevent the government from providing services to the people."
Mativha says they are also calling on the community to assist police in identifying the possible culprits.
He adds that it is not the first time that such an incident occurs, especially in Mokgalakwena.
Police say a high-level team has been established as part of the search and the investigation is at a sensitive stage.
