Limpopo High Court opens its doors
Updated | By JacarandaFM News
The Limpopo High Court has brought services closer to the people.
Justice Minister Michael Masutha is attending the launch of the court in Polokwane.
The court started operating in January this year making it easier for the people to access services of the high court without travelling to Pretoria.
Masutha says the province's economy will also benefit.
"The presence of this court is going to create the possibility for many economic activities to be attracted to this province as a result of its establishment, so that all the many commercial matters that otherwise would have had to go to big law firms and be handled by big name advocates in Gauteng can now be dealt with and disposed of by judges who are located in this province with the use of council and attorneys that are located right here at the doorstep of the court," says Masutha.

Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng is also in attendance.
He says the court will be of no use if law and justice is not advanced.
"It never helps to have an important building like this if the judicial capacity available is a far cry from what is required to ensure that every case that is trial ready is promptly responded to," says Mogoeng.
