Limpopo intelligence operations lead to 476 arrests

Police in Limpopo have nabbed four hundred and seventy-six suspects linked to various crimes, as part of the provincial Operation Fiela II operation.

The intelligence driven operations concluded on Monday morning.
"The suspects aged between 18 and 56 were arrested for various crimes ranging from murder, business robberies, house robberies, armed robberies, common robberies, Immigration Act, possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition to possession of suspected stolen properties and suspected stolen motor vehicles," says police spokesperson, Moatshe Ngoepe.

The arrests include a municipal traffic official for attempted murder at a local petrol station.
"The officer shot the victim twice in the stomach after an argument and was immediately arrested and his firearm was confiscated," says Ngoepe.
