The police has condemned the latest attack on an elderly woman outside Burgersfort.
A 33-year-old man is in custody on a charge of rape after an alleged incident in Limpopo yesterday.
Local residents allegedly caught the man while he was raping a mentally challenged elderly woman.
The police has now thanked residents for handing the suspect over, who is out on parole after he was previously convicted of rape.
"The police reacted swiftly, arrested the suspect and the victim was immediately conveyed to the hospital for medical attention," reads a police statement.
The suspect was previously convicted of the rape of a 78-year-old woman.
He is set to appear in court on Monday on a charge of rape.
