Limpopo man arrested for allegedly raping 5 children

Limpopo police have arrested a 41-year-old man for allegedly raping five children in Tswinga Gotha village in Thohoyandou.

The suspect was arrested on Sunday after he apparently lured the victims, aged between 4 and 10, to his residence before raping them.

Two of the victims, aged 8 and 10, are from the same family and were allegedly raped on Thursday.

While the youngest victims, aged between 4 and 9 years, are from different families in the area and they were raped on Friday.

Provincial police spokesperson Motlafela Mojapelo says they arrested the suspect while he was being assaulted by angry community members.

“It is alleged the victims were forced by the suspect to go to his place of residents where he allegedly raped them. Community members received information, caught the suspect and started assaulting him.”

The suspect is expected to appear in the Thohoyandou Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
