Police have arrested a 30-year-old suspect for money laundering at the Malaladrift border in Musina in Limpopo on Thursday.
Limpopo police spokesperson, Motlafela Mojapelo, says police received a tip-off about a man travelling in a metallic brown Toyota bakkie carrying large summons of cash.
"The vehicle matching the description given was then spotted in the area and the driver was ordered to stop. The members began thoroughly searching the vehicle and found banknotes in South African currency, amounting to R308 250," says Mojapelo.
The suspect is expected to appear at the Musina Magistrates’ Court soon on a charge of money laundering.
Police investigations are meanwhile continuing.
