Limpopo mother accused of killing daughter, denied bail
Masingita Vanencia Mabunda (31) has been denied bail after allegedly killing her eight-year-old daughter Varsity Leah Mabunda in Ga-Makhushane village.
Mabunda appeared in the Namakgale Magistrate's Court in Limpopo on Wednesday on a charge of murder.
She is expected back in court at the end of August.
Police spokesperson Maphure Manamela says the 8-year-old was allegedly assaulted by her mother who accused her of stealing money.
"It is believed that the mother ran away soon after the incident, but the police launched a search operation until she was arrested later in the day from her hideout in the area."
