Limpopo, Northern Cape still least hit by Covid-19

Limpopo and the Northern Cape remain the least impacted by Covid-19 in the country.
The latest stats by Health Minister Zweli Mkhize show both provinces have recorded the least amount of infections and Covid-19 fatalities.
The country now sits on 790 004 cumulative cases – only 2.4% of which are from Limpopo and 2.9% are from the Northern Cape.
“As of today, the cumulative total of COVID-19 cases is 790 004 with 2 302 new cases identified since the last report,” Mkhize said on Monday evening.
“Regrettably, 58 more Covid-19-related deaths have been reported: Eastern Cape 32, Free State 5, Gauteng 3, Kwa-Zulu Natal 3 and Western Cape 15. This brings the total deaths to 21 535 deaths,” he adds.
Gauteng has the highest number of cumulative cases and fatalities.
The stats also paint a dire picture for the Eastern Cape and the Western cape as both provinces are slowly starting to catch up with Gauteng.
