Limpopo police arrest three linked to hijacking
Updated | By ANA
Police in Limpopo said on Thursday they have arrested three people in Mogapeng who are suspected of hijacking an Isuzu bakkie in the area in November last year.
The owner of an Isuzu bakkie was robbed of his vehicle at gunpoint at the T-junction of the Tzaneen/ Lydenburg road at night. He was not injured during the incident,” said police spokeswoman Ronel Otto.
“Following intensive intelligence driven operations, the suspects were arrested at Mogapeng village, Maake last night.
“The vehicle as well as an unlicenced firearm were recovered in their possession.”
Police believe that the suspects may also have been involved in other hijackings.
“Investigations to link them to similar crimes in the area are ongoing.”
They are due to appear in the Ritavi Magistrate’s Court soon.
