Limpopo police searching for awaiting trial escapee

Police in Limpopo have launched manhunt for an awaiting trial prisoner who escaped from lawful custody in Lebowakgomo under Capricorn District.
Mahlaela Patrick (37) who is accused of counts of rape is reported to have been attending Thabamoopo Court on Monday.
"According to information, the suspect was appearing in court on four counts of rape committed at Seruleng village in 2015 and Byldrift in 2016, where three young ladies were gang raped in the bushes by four unknown men.
"He was one of the suspects and he faced further two counts of robbery with aggravating circumstances," says spokesperson Malesela Ledwaba.
He says circumstances surrounding the incidents that lead to the escape are under investigation.
Ledwaba has urged members of the community not to attempt to apprehend the suspect as he is deemed dangerous.
