Limpopo pupils commit suicide after failing grade 10
Updated | By Lesetja Makhura
The Limpopo Department of Education is mourning the deaths of two high school learners who took their own lives, after failing to progress to the next grade.

The two grade 10 boys, respectively from Mphaphuli High and Thohoyandou Technical schools, failed to progress to grade 11.
The schools are both under the department's Vhembe East District in Vhembe.
MEC Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya expressed her department’s shock at the incident, and extended condolences to the bereaved families.
"This has given us a reason now to plead with families and parents to say, let's get closer to our children, so that we give them emotional support when they face this type of situation."
Adding to this, Lerule-Ramakhanya paid respect to the learners’ respective schools, adding that help is on its way.
"Our team for psychosocial support will get closer to the families and will also get closer to the learners when the schools reopen."
