Limpopo records largest increase in new Covid-19 daily deaths

As the country waits for a possible easing to lockdown level 1, the number of Covid-19 related deaths has further increased by 142.

The latest report by Health Minister Zweli Mkhize shows that Limpopo has recorded the largest increase in fatalities - with 67 related deahts.
This is followed by 19 related deaths reported in Mpumalanga, 16 in KwaZulu-Natal, 13 in the Western Cape, 12 in Gauteng, 11 in the Northern Cape and 4 deaths in the Eastern Cape.
The national total of coronavirus deaths has increased to 15 641.

The report further shows that only 772 cases of the Coronavirus have been identified in the past 24 hours - with 11 603 new tests conducted.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, a total of 651 522 cases of the Coronavirus have been identified.
A total of 583 126 recoveries have been recorded, with the recovery rate at 89.5%.
