Limpopo police have arrested a 17-year-old in connection with the hijacking and murder of a driver working for the e-hailing service Bolt.
The teenager was arrested on Tuesday in Ladanna, a day after the body of the driver was found in Westernburg outside Polokwane.
Police spokesperson Malesela Ledwaba said the car was found abandoned in a park in the city.
"Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects requested to be ferried by a Bolt metered taxi and along the way they stabbed the driver to death. Afterwards, burned and dumped the body on a newly developed site near the Place of Safety Shelter in Westenburg area.
"The police have, through investigations, managed to identify the deceased and the family will be notified soon," he said.
The suspect is expected to appear in the Polokwane Magistrate's Court soon.
Police are searching for two suspected accomplices.
