Limpopo truck driver crashes into children, killing 4
Updated | By Lindiwe Mpanza
Four children died and three others were injured after a truck crashed into them while they were travelling back from a football game in Jane Furse.
It is believed that the driver lost control of the vehicle and ran into the group on Wednesday.
Police spokesperson Motlafela Mojapelo says four of the children died on the scene.
"The school children were from playing soccer and were crossing the road when the driver of the truck lost control and crashed into seven of them. Four died on the spot and three were taken to hospital," says Mojapelo.
The driver was arrested and is expected to appear in court on Monday.
Mojapelo says while police investigate a case of culpable homicide, the driver will also be charged with failing to stop at the scene of the accident.
