Limpopo woman (21) in court for killing boyfriend with beer bottle
Jasca Mhaleni (21) appeared
before Lulekani Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday for allegedly stabbing her
boyfriend to death with a beer bottle outside Phalaborwa.
National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson in Limpopo, Mashudu Malabi- Dzhangi, says the incident occurred on Saturday.
“It is alleged that Jasca got information that her boyfriend was with another woman near a liquor outlet in the area, and she reportedly rushed to the outlet where she found him with an unknown woman. “
Dzhangi says the victim, 36-year-old Themba Xigama Chabalala, was killed during an argument and died on scene.
“An argument ensued and it is reported that Jasca stabbed the Chabalala with a beer bottle. The victim, aged 36, was certified dead by paramedics on the scene.”
The 21-year-old later handed herself over to the police at Namakgale.
The case was postponed to 13 August for a formal bail application.
