Lindiwe Sisulu expected to resign as Member of Parliament

Former minister and ANC stalwart, Lindiwe Sisulu, is expected to resign as an ANC Member of Parliament (MP) this week.
Her resignation comes after she was dropped from President Cyril Ramaphosa's new cabinet last week - after serving as the minister of Tourism.
This is the first time since joining the executive that Sisulu was left out.
Sisulu has been part of the executive since 1996, and served under Presidents Nelson Mandela, Thabo Mbheki, Jacob Zuma and the now President Cyril Rampahosa.
She has led several ministries including tourism, international relations, human settlements, water and sanitation, defence, public service and administration, housing, human settlements and intelligence.
Spokesperson for the office of the ANC Chief Whip in Parliament, Luthando Nogcinisa said at the time of publishing on Wednesday morning that it is not clear whether Sisulu had already handed in her resignation.
“She did indicate to the Chief Whip that she would resign, but as you know MPs resign to the Speaker of the National Assembly.
“We wouldn’t be actually sure if she has or has not but the indication she gave to the Chief Whip was that she would resign this week.”
