Lions attack horse riders
Updated | By Suné du Toit
A man had a near-death experience when he and a group of horse riders were attacked by two lions.

A video shows the group riding in a grassland in the Okavango Delta in Botswana when they were surprised by the lions.
According to the woman who uploaded the video to YouTube, their guide spotted the male lion - previously hidden behind a termite mound - very close to them on their left.
When they turned to ride away, a lioness popped out from behind some bushes and began to pursue the group.
"One of the horses cut in front of my husband's horse, and he pushed off to avoid potentially getting trampled underfoot. When he emerged from the water, he found himself virtually face to face with the lioness. Luckily, she decided he wasn't the lunch she wanted and he was able to safely retreat back to our guide.
This encounter occurred last October.
