[LISTEN] AmaXhosa king's death 'a great loss to the nation'

The chairperson of the Eastern Cape House of Traditional Leaders, Prince Ntsindiso Mdunyelwa says the amaXhosa people are mourning the death of their king, Mpendulo Calvin Zwelonke Sigcawu.
"It is indeed a great loss in the nation generally and particular to the Xhosa kingdom," says Mdunyelwa.
According to Mdunyelwa, the king was a proponent of cultural rights and practices and served as a role model for younger traditional leaders.

King Sigcawu, aged 51, has been sick for a month, but Mdunyelwa says his death came as a shock.
"His character was that of a brave person," says Mdunyelwa.
