The Minister of Transport, Fikile Mbalula says government is looking in the resumption of international travel in a bid to stimulate the economy.

Mbalula was inspecting Covid-19 compliance at airports on Saturday morning.
His visit comes as the country waits to hear whether President Cyril Ramaphosa will move the country to level 1 lockdown restrictions.

Mbalula says government is indeed considering this.
"We are also looking at opening international travel - it is top of our agenda to look at that," he said on Saturday.
He noted that South Africa would benchmark against other countries in this process.
"WIt's not just going to be an opening for everybody, just like that," he said, explaining that government would use scientific measures to decide which countries would be allowed to send visitors to South Africa.
