LISTEN: The lions roam in Marloth Park
Updated | By Eva Chipa
There has been countless sighting of the five lions that decided to make
the small town of Marloth Park in Mpumalanga their temporary home.

The Kruger National Park earlier confirmed that the big cats escaped the park and are roaming around the area.
Marloth resident Anita says she saw the predators with her own two eyes – and gave a detailed account of her encounter with the animals.

Kruger National Park spokesperson Isaac Phaahla says the rainy weather may have left the lions stuck on the wrong side of the river.
“We believe that the animals must have been traversing between the town and the park while the river was low and were caught on the wrong side of the fence after the heavy rains increased the water levels.”
According to Phaala there are operations in place to capture and return the lions to the park.
