LISTEN: Teen in custody for stabbing fellow learner

A 16-year-old learner from a school in Peddie in the Eastern Cape is in police custody for allegedly stabbing a fellow learner.
Police spokesperson Khaya Tonjeni says the incident was sparked by a missing cell phone.
“According to the police report, a fight over a missing cell phone resulted in the stabbing of an 18-year old learner. The incident took place yesterday afternoon at a high school in Peddie a town not very far from Bisho.”
He says the 18-year-old learner was rushed to hospital but succumbed to his wounds.
On Thursday, a teacher at Ramotshere Technical High School outside Zeerust was allegedly stabbed and killed by a 17-year old learner.
The learner is in police custody and will face murder charges.
