[LISTEN] #TotalShutdown to take their grievances to JSE
Updated | By Nathan Daniels
Organisers of the "total shutdown" protests say they will intensify their demonstrations.
The Gauteng Shut-Down Co-ordinating Committee (GSCC) says they will take their battle to the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE).
Coloured residents from several communities plan to picket outside the JSE offices in Sandton on Tuesday morning.
Organiser, Anthony Phillip Williams says they will not stop until government release substantial plans to include residents in social and economic growth.
He says residents want to experience the prosperity promised in the post-democratic era.

"If they don't adhere to the request or turn a blind eye or deaf ear, they will see what happens," a stern warning was sent to government officials by Williams.
The predominantly coloured suburbs say they are not afforded equal black economic empowerment opportunities.
"What are the companies who are listed there doing in terms of employment equity, affirmative action, BBBE - what have they done to include the so-called coloureds."
Williams says they will give officials of the JSE seven days to respond to their demands.
"We are talking a meaningful change. We are not talking about tokenism, posturing and fronting - we are talking about real economic empowerment and inclusion."
