LIVE: Opposition parties take to the streets for National Day of Action

Opposition parties are uniting for a march to the Union Buildings - demanding President Jacob Zuma's resignation.
Nine opposition parties including the EFF, UDM and DA will march from Church Square to the Union Buildings in Pretoria on Wednesday - on the President's 75th birthday.

"This is not Nkandla compound. The only job Zuma can do better is look after cattle. He does not belong in the Union Buildings," says Malema.
Marchers are told there are 120 000 people at the Union Buildings.

Protesters have started arriving at the Union Buildings.
They are joined by leaders of various political parties, who marched from Church Square.
Opposition parties are united in their call for President Jacob Zuma to resign.

There is a strong police presence to ensure the march remains peaceful.

People are starting to gather in the road.
A large IFP crowd has also just arrived.

Cope leader Mosiuoa Lekota says the march will be much bigger than people expect.
"I know that there are buses and trains that are still coming and I think we already have a very good presence here," says Lekota.

Save South Africa has come out in support of the march to the Union Buildings.
The civil rights group says while it does not necessarily share the same political views as the opposition, it agrees with the call for Zuma to resign.
Save South Africa's Themba Masango said they are happy with the turnout.
"So far so good and it looks like it is growing. We were a little disturbed a little bit by the rain, but it looks like the skies are clearing and people are coming out in their numbers."
The crowd is growing.
