Loadshedding remains suspended after an 18-day streak
Updated | By Mmangaliso Khumalo
Power utility Eskom continues to suspend loadshedding until further notice.
In a short statement released on Sunday, Eskom spokesperson Daphne Mokwena said the continuation of suspended loadshedding was attributed to the sustained availability of generation capacity and emergency reserves.
"A total of 2 150MW of generation capacity is planned to be restored by Monday.
"Eskom will provide an update on Wednesday afternoon or promptly communicate any significant changes should they occur."
This streak of loadshedding free days follows the 18 days without the system being implemented during the 2023 Festive Season.
