Only 8 people are allowed in a 16-seater taxi, including the driver, in a bid to stop the spread of Covid-19.

Community Safety MEC Faith Mazibuko visited the taxi rank on Friday, admitting it was a challenge for law enforcement.

"The minute one turns their back it becomes business as usual. So it means we have to continuously place all the law enforcement officials at all hot-spots. I am a 100% sure by Monday the drivers will comply, it is only the first day, we have some teething problems," she said.
