Rampton was responding to questions around the living conditions of a group of more than 40 Fidelity security personnel who are staying and sleeping in unhygienic conditions.

Jacaranda FM News revealed on Monday how a group of guards, who are contracted to the residents association, were living at a spare room at the office park, north of Johannesburg.

Rampton denies any knowledge of the guard's living conditions, saying he was approached by a Fidelity branch manager to accommodate ten security personnel.

"The extent of my knowledge is that I was approached by the Fidelity branch manager, Timothy Makondo, with the request that he would like to offer accommodation to about 10 guards.

"They would have problems traveling forwards and backward to Soweto, being able to get back in time due to the absence of reliable transport to get onto their next shift.

"They asked if we could assist in accommodation, so we told them there was a spare room in the LRA offices. LRA and Fidelity share one office block," he explains.

Rampton also claims that Makhondo assured him that the security personnel would be bought food and sleeping mattresses.

However, pictures provided to Jacaranda FM News show otherwise.

The pictures also show unhygienic ablution and poor living conditions.

"The only arrangement I was involved in was the 7de Laan studio, also unit number 81, which is the combined LRA and Fidelity office.

"There was no other arrangements made to house staff in the studio office park that I am aware of," he adds.
