Orlando Pirates forward Thembinkosi Lorch is set to leave the Buccuneers for Mamelodi Sundowns.
Pirates released a brief statement in which it confirmed that the 30-year-old, who joined Pirates in 2016, would be leaving the club following “a discussion” between Chairman Irvin Khoza and Mamelodi Sundowns.
“The Club thanks “Nyoso” for his immense contribution by adding another page in the history of the Club. We wish him and his family well in his future sporting pursuit,” read the statement.

Lorch has been a favourite, despite some backlash from anti-gender based violence activists over his much-publicised personal issues.
The Randburg Magistrates Court found him guilty of assaulting his girlfriend in 2020.
He was sentenced to three years in prison, however, the sentence was suspended for five years on condition he was not found guilty of a similar crime in the said period.
