Mabuza: Govt must support new landowners
Updated | By Lulutho Mkosi
Deputy President David Mabuza has reiterated the need for government to provide adequate financial support once land has been redistributed.

Mabuza, who chairs the inter-ministerial committee on land reform, answered questions in the National Council of Provinces on Wednesday.
He told MPs that the government is in the process of compiling a package to support those who will be the recipients of land.
“If really our intention as a country is to maximise the production capacity of this sector, agriculture and grow the economy, we must take the necessary step to support those people in the sector.
“We will not just give people land and say to them: ‘See it to the finish’.”
