Mafela’s sister says driver of other car owes family an explanation

Joe Mafela’s younger sister Annie Rambau believes the only person who can explain what happened on the night of Mafela death, is the driver of the other car involved in the accident.
She was speaking at Mafela’s funeral service held at the University of Johannesburg’s Soweto Campus on Wednesday.
“His death shocked us and left us devastated and asking questions about how it happened. The only person who can explain this to us is the driver of the other vehicle. It is unfortunate that my brother is no more and cannot tell us his side of the story,” said Rambau.
Mafela died in a car crash on the M1 north in Johannesburg two weeks ago. He was 74.
His granddaughter Wanga Mulelu dedicated a moving poem to Mafela.
“Since the day of your departure I have missed you a million times and if my love for you could have saved you, you would have never died. Today we travel to your grave and we place flowers with care. I will carry your smile and laugh wherever I go. Let the heavens open and receive you, watch the space as we knock you back with the seeds you planted. Fly grandpa, fly
